The magic of my histories

I move. I feel. My blood carries my life.

I am still. I look inside the calm waters... and here I find the truth of who I am.

When overwhelming energies arise, can't I see that the water is only clear when I allow myself to move what reaches out, running evermore inside..?

Whether difficulty or pure joy, I can push it away as if to be scared when it is too overpowering...

When whatever it is has moved through me to its end though, with an 'ahhh' the sun comes out and shines on the tranquility, piercing it with clarity.

Healthy skin, effects of smoking on the skin

image: simeon schatz photography www.simeonschatz.comWrinkles and healthy skin.  Good health effects your entire body.  But did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body?  Some good skincare habits include:

  • Topical hydration with lotions
  • Drink plenty of water each day to flush the pores
  • Exercise to keep the circulation moving

Wrinkles are formed as we age, slowly sucking out the moisture inherent in youthful skin.  The sun is not your friend when it comes to wrinkles.  There are harmful effects of extended sun exposure to the skin.   UVA (A can stand for aging). We get UVA rays from the sun through clouds and on days when we don’t know it. This is when most people forget to wear sunscreen, or do not think it’s important.  UVB (B can stand for burns). We get UVB rays from the sun through direct, hot sunlight. This is when most people think to apply sunscreen.

Smoking cigarettes too is a big cause of wrinkles, discoloration and poor texture of the skin. The following are harmful effects of cigarette smoking that affect your skin:

Some top tips for social media internet marketing

If I had to make a list of the top social media tips, what would they be:

Know your audience and speak to them. Inspire them to come back every day for new tidbits of information, like one of the favorite books they are reading.

Be a place to go for interaction (not a billboard). Pose questions and topics for discussion. Do not always be a place that always tries to promote and give readers another thing to do, or another way to spend money they do not have. When a person is inspired, they will do what they have to do to give you the business you desire.

Invite pure participation, not necessarily anything outside of interacting on their computer. This builds a following.

Do you wear a mask to be a mystery?

With Halloween around the corner, I am reminded of masks. I'm not thinking of costumes though, but of the idea underneath.  It is during these masquerade parties that we can play with the idea of hiding our identity and being another side of our psyche.

I wonder now how many people actually hide behind a mask, although invisible, all the time?  Interestingly enough, there is an art to living a balanced, healthy masquerade life.

Am I moving toward or moving away?

What does wholeness look like to me? The words that describe me are summed up here.

Robin Ellen Lucas copywriter and editor lets words flowIn my search for wholeness, I get a cue as to what I avoid in life when I watch what it is I try to withhold from others in my conversations. These are the truths which I hide even from myself, since I clearly lack confidence to orate them. The fear is controlled by my unconscious. These are the inner truths that point to my fear of being who I truly am.

If I catch myself trying to avoid telling someone the truth about myself, I will see how I hide from life. This is the pointer that shows me my fear of being who I truly am.

I seek to bring myself into wholeness by merging my mind with my beliefs. The two act aside each other naturally. When the dark clouds come, I have to work diligently in meditation to remember the sun is always shining above it—something greater than me.

Letting go: It's an art to speak to your unconscious

The unconscious is where we are driven. In the same way that most of an iceberg is actually underwater, the largest part of our psyche is the unconscious—most is the "shadow."

The art of "letting go" is the way we drop our worries and pinpointed desires from our minds so that they no longer control us. It is sourced here in the unconscious. This includes:

  • All that we try to let go
  • All the activity in our minds that over-thinks
  • All the agitation
  • All that keeps us from reaching our dreams

Finding the truth of who you are involves listening to your deep words and writing them with the poetry of the mind - my secret innuendo captures your poem

Not so simple, if we are not able to express ourselves from the core of who we are because we feel uncomfortable doing so, it's because we are mentally blocked.

Nighttime dreams are one way to access the genius of our unconscious. Dream interpretation allows us to speak to the actors. Entering into a dialog with the dream characters is a step toward unleashing the unconscious material which then calmly settles in the conscious mind.

Is it words or sand?

Has the internet changed our communications with love or friendships?  With the internet so easily accessible, it becomes the first mode of communication where words take on the greatest of meaning.  Do we become lost and literally zapped by the electromagnetic waves of cyberspace and lose touch with all other sources of reality that generate powerful connections in the first place?

Stepping aside from the exchange of words opens the mind to an extraordinary place where the conduit between two beings is instead in the stars.  This reality brings a refreshing aspect to a relationship that would not exist were it to simply revolve around communication via words.

Take comfort in this idea, even if it's unknown...
