Not ready before your time: Be kept awhile longer where you are mine alone and I am only yours

image: Holly Dawn DeLeonI am inspired by this writing by Toko-Pa which sends me into a new place, all while I’m set on focusing on that which I need to do in this moment. I’m not sure what that is actually; I’m letting life guide me, distracted or not.

Do not be ready before your time.
There’s no knowing what symmetry is marshalling itself below this confusion.
First the long attentiveness of listening must be paid.
Don’t brave your way out of this husk while it serves to protect your impressionability.
Let yourself be kept a while longer in these origins where you are mine alone and I am only yours.
Let something sweet be made of our secret.
Put not your offering into the world too soon.
Let it ripen in the guardianship of your trepidation.
Let this fallow time be stretched, for it is in this unreadiness that beauty takes its form.
…You will need to remember what grace was allowed only by your long staying hidden.

I have been ready since the first time I can remember. It was the night I told you so. And this never stopped. But being hidden has allowed me to listen. I listen to what I’ve trapped inside me. I move it around and it speaks. I can always stand the reason to go on, not listening to impatience that unfolds at the seams of a story I remember—each day. Our story was never over. I’m still here in our secret, yet I am offering bit by bit, in the stream of your words still echoing in my brain. You are burned into my brain. Could it be that I am yours. Yes. I am in one wing of our eternal breeze blown to you.

Walk through the vestibule: Sounds and sights as benchmarks

You have, I'm sure, had the experience at one time in your life of forgetting what you were doing as soon as you entered another room. Do doorways actually serve as event boundaries or is one's ability to remember linked to the environment in which a decision was created?

True, research has shown that environmental factors affect memory and that information learned in one environment is retrieved better when the retrieval occurs in the same context. The act of passing through a doorway, however, serves as a way the mind files away memories.

Walk through the vesibule into your new home and feel yourself enter into a new world full of possibilities—new thoughts, sounds, visions.

Your life is interpretted by a cacophony of sounds, sights and feelings, whether in the forefront or background of your days. From city streets to your own old house. As time passes, you get used to it all, and allow chaos to blend into your life. By tuning out that which takes over your senses of distraction, you keep the melodious qualities that bring music to your ears.

Learning to talk to yourself: Your internal dialogs

It's not easy, but possible to speak internally to another person as if you have direct access to each other's thoughts. You can be fueled by the language that speaks to you inside your mind. This dialog can be a way for you to make things right simply within your mind with certain people.

Speaking the secrets of your soul is easy when you speak to yourself. When your heart is open, you are able to feel the truth of what you really feel.

Listen to the story you have to tell. You can read it, listen to it, and live in it as you would your favorite book.

You have many channels to your heart. The trick is to find yours—the ones that undeniably open every time.

Find the universal presence, spirit or love that resonates most with you and feel it hold you like a warm blanket. Then speak to it. Let it tell you, as if you are looking into a mirror, what you have to say.
