So many updates... How do I balance it out?

Social media management by R.E.L. CopywritingYou sit down at your computer about to do your social media updates and you wonder a few things:

  1. Why do some of the people I follow seem to post every 5 seconds every time I'm logged on? I don't even read their articles because I'm so annoyed.
  2. Who will actually see what I write? I want to get out there so that I'm not wasting my time.
  3. What times of day are most people in my industry most likely to be on social media sites (e.g., Twitter)?
  4. I am so proud of my article I wrote recently and get lots of great feedback from others. I want everyone to see it more than once!
  5. I don't know what I'm doing here. Maybe I'll copy one of my followers.
  6. I have too much to say and don't know how to say it.

Advice: Do a mixture of all of the above. What you are seeing is what social media is all about.

Although there are some rules of thumb that people have come up with after analyzing statistics, social media can best be figured out by interacting with it yourself to see what naturally unfolds for you.

As you interact, learn from others, and come out of your shell on passing along what you want to say when you want to say it, you will KNOW what you need to do next.

Just treat social media marketing as you would any other balancing act in life. Calm the chaos in your mind that tells you there are too many rules to follow, too many people who know more than you, and too many people watching you.

Be creative. Follow your own lead. You are who others want to follow anyway.

Just go for it.
